You can add a read-only user to your Relay business account — ideal if you want someone to monitor transactions or download statements without being able to make any changes.

What "Read-Only" Access Means in Relay

A Read‑only user can:

  • View all transactions and payees

  • Download statements

  • (Depending on your settings) be limited to specific checking/savings accounts

But they cannot perform actions such as sending payments, adding payees, issuing cards, or transferring funds (support.relayfi.com, Gusto Help Center).

How to Invite a Read-only User

Via Web:

  1. Log into your Relay account.

  2. Go to the Team tab.

  3. Click + Add new team member.

  4. Enter their email address.

  5. Select Read‑only from the permission level dropdown.

  6. If applicable, choose which checking/savings accounts they can access.

  7. Hit Invite.

They’ll receive an email invite — they must accept it and set up their login before they can access your Relay dashboard (support.relayfi.com, Gusto Help Center).

Via Mobile App:

  1. Open the Relay app and sign in.

  2. Navigate to SettingsTeam.

  3. Tap the plus (+) icon to add a new user.

  4. Input the email and choose Read‑only.

  5. Select account access (if restricted).

  6. Send the invite via Invite (support.relayfi.com, Fit Small Business).

Who Can Invite Someone?

  • Administrators can invite team members (with any permission level) and advisors.

  • Managers can invite only team members — and only with Cardholder, Deposit-only, or Read-only permissions. They cannot invite advisors (support.relayfi.com).

Steps Recap

Step Action 1 Ensure you have Administrator or appropriate access. 2 Navigate to Team and click Add new team member. 3 Enter the email, choose Read‑only permission. 4 Restrict access to specific accounts if needed. 5 Click Invite. User receives an email. 6 User accepts the invite and logs in.

Tips & Considerations

  • Scope access carefully — specify which accounts they can view if you want to limit exposure.

  • The “Read‑only” role offers a safe option for accountants, bookkeepers, or collaborators who shouldn't have transactional control.

  • Managers can invite a Read‑only user, but remember they can't invite advisors — that’s reserved for Admins or specific advisor roles (support.relayfi.com, support.relayfi.com, CreditDonkey).

Relay makes it straightforward to onboard team members with granular control over what they can see and do. Setting up read-only access helps you maintain visibility while ensuring security.
